Our social workers in Dunedin and Central Otago support individuals and families in a variety of ways. There is no charge for social work assistance
Support with difficulties you may be having as a parent managing your child/teenager.We work by building on the strengths a family already has and offer some new ideas that can help parents find a way forward. When you contact us ,one of our social workers will meet with you ,either in our office or your home and explore solutions you can put into practice right away.
Advocacy/support in your dealings with other agencies/organisations
We work closely alongside other community groups and can refer to other services if we are unable to directly assist
“I have learnt to listen to my kids and learned tools to further our future together .My son is a lot easier to be around and my daughter is respecting me more”
In Dunedin we also provide assessments for those needing food parcels from St Vincent de Paul Society or emergency help with electricity accounts through the DCC Electricity Fund (a one off “Grant” for power bills is available to all Dunedin residents who are eligible)
